Replacement deck for the Darkrai EX meta with Magnezone until you have all the cards.

Toxicroak is more luck-focused unfortunately but with a well put coin toss it can knock down anything in a couple of turns.

Deck with only dark energies.

Send Druddigon ahead to die with RockyHelmet and run GiantCape on Darkrai or Toxicroak as needed.

Toxicroak should be used as a finisher, prioritize loading Darkrai if possible.

Mewtwo EX/Gardevoir Ramp

Pokémon

  • Mewtwo ex x2
  • Ralts x2
  • Kirlia x2
  • Gardevoir x2
  • Sigilyph x2

Trainers

  • Sabrina x2
  • Professor's Research x2
  • Poké Ball x2
  • Mythical Slab x2
  • X Speed x2

The core combo of this deck is having a Mewtwo EX as the active Pokemon with two energies while having a Gardevoir on your bench. This will allow you to put two energies on Mewtwo every turn, letting you play Psydrive every turn. Once this combo activates, there aren't many decks that can tank that much reliable damage.

Rampardos Silvally

Pokémon

  • Cranidos x1
  • Rampardos x2
  • Type: Null x2
  • Silvally x2
  • Skull Fossil x2

  • Poké Ball x1
  • Rare Candy x2
  • Gladion x2
  • Iono x1
  • Mars x1
  • Professor's Research x2
  • Red x1
  • Sabrina x1

Rampardos is one of those regular Pokémon whose power level is on par with Pokémon ex. For just 1 Energy, Head Smash deals 130 damage, an unmatched rate in Pokémon TCG Pocket (not even rivaled by any Pokémon ex so far). The attack comes with a drawback: if it knocks out the Defending Pokémon, Rampardos takes 50 recoil damage. Still, the upside of trading a Pokémon ex for a single point makes it well worth the cost. Rampardos can withstand both the self-damage and attacks from opposing Pokémon thanks to its solid 150 HP.

Reliant on Misty to generate energy quickly and start dealing damage. Avoid playing 2nd Lapras prematurely to avoid Sabrina, unless you have a fossil you can use for free retreats. If 1 Lapras dies, remove fossils to avoid Sabrina.

Cheaper version of Aritcuno 18T, Misses the attack for 2 energy but can help to start. If you get 1 Articuno, you can run it with 2 Lapras, and once you have the second Articuno, you can go to the Articuno 18T deck, or keep trying with some Lapras for extra pokeball consistency.

1 Prize point deck which aims to counter EX that rack up energies like Celebi and Gyra EX. Deck is still able to take down Charizard and Mewtwo EXs after they discard 2 energies with the help of chip damage of Druddigon and Greninja. It can be inconsistent as you may not get to needed stage 1 or stage 2 pokemon in time, but is really fun to punish those big energy EX pokemon.

Poison King

Pokémon

  • Nidoran♂ x2
  • Nidorino x2
  • Nidoking x2
  • Koffing x2
  • Weezing x2

Trainers

  • Koga x2
  • Sabrina x2
  • Poké Ball x2
  • Red Card x2
  • Professor's Research x2

Both Koffing or Nidoran ♂ can be used to start. If Weezing is available early, evolve and use it to tank early hits while putting energy into Nidoran ♂. If starting with Nidoran ♂, evolve it and use it to tank while dealing damage. During this time, you should be able to build another Nidoking or Weezing for late game.

Use Koga to "heal" your Weezings to continue tanking hits. Red Card can slow down any deck that requires setups. (e.g. Mewtwo ex with Gardevoir setup) X Speed can be used instead of Red Card for free early swaps.
